text_direction=”default”]I have a new book available in my Journals of a Travel Photographer series. For those unfamiliar, this is a series of books I’ve produced that chronicle one of my photo-gathering trips. They’re mostly chronological and give a glimpse into what these trips are like and what my process is for finding images.<\/p>\n

This book is titled “C\u00f3rdoba, Spain: Four days exploring C\u00f3rdoba during the FLORA 2025 festival”. It varies a little from the previous books in the Journals series as it is the first I’ve produced using a new on-demand printing provider. I’ve used Blurb in the past but this time around I wanted to try out Lulu when I realized their pricing was much more affordable, allowing me to make these books available at a much lower price point. The format is a bit smaller (this book is 8.5″ square compared to the previous which were 9.5″ x 8″) but I’ve found that the print quality is very similar.<\/p>\n

I have a couple more books queued up. I’ll stick with Lulu for awhile and see how things go. If the quality holds up, I may go back through my back catalog and re-issue a few of the oldies in this new format.[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”10″][vc_column_text css=”” text_direction=”default”]\n

\nduring the FLORA 2025 festival<\/h3>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”” text_direction=”default”]This particular book follows the four days I spent last Fall in C\u00f3rdoba, Spain. The trip was arranged to coincide with the FLORA festival (which I wrote more about here<\/a><\/strong>) but also included a lot of touring of the traditional, year-round attractions in C\u00f3rdoba. None of the Journals books are to be considered full travel guides, but are really visual diaries of my own particular experience. Spain knows how to throw a festival. Since 2017 the FLORA Festival has been held in C\u00f3rdoba, Spain. C\u00f3rdoba has long had a history of decorating courtyards with flowers and there is another festival\u2014the Festival of the Patios\u2014held each May that celebrates private courtyards with tours and a competition. The FLORA Festival invites five international artists to design plant-based installations for five public courtyards. I was invited to attend FLORA in 2025 and to tour and learn more about C\u00f3rdoba during a four-day stay. I found the city to be charming and the festival enchanting. As part of the press pool I was able to spend some time with the participating artists and I was amazed by the camraderie among them. Even thought it was a juried competion, they were all very supportive of one another and were excited to get to see their competitors\u2019 approaches to the theme. The theme for 2025 was \u201cFuture.\u201d I can\u2019t possibly cover everything C\u00f3rdoba has to offer in these pages but I have attempted to capture the flavor of my experience. Certainly there are important sites that I\u2019ve omitted, but only for the reason that my visit was brief. I hope you enjoy this book, an encapsulation of my time in this historic city. Many thanks to all who made this trip possible and to those I met along the way that made it so memorable. ”<\/p>\n

If this book inspires you to visit, you’ll need to move quickly! It is an annual event, however, so there’s always next year. Or visit C\u00f3rdoba anytime, really. You won’t be disappointed.<\/p>\n
